Rosatom unites more than 270 enterprises and scientific organizations including all civil companies of the Russian atomic industry, enterprises of nuclear arms complex and the only nuclear-powered ice-breaker fleet in the world. The company has a leading position on the global market of nuclear technologies, it ranks 1st in the world in terms of number of NPP being simultaneously built abroad, it ranks 2nd in the world in uranium reserves, and it ranks 5th in the world in terms of production, and 4th in the world on nuclear power generation. Rosatom secures 40% of the world service market on uranium enrichment and 17% of the nuclear fuel market.
General Customer and investor of the project
The company was registered in Ankara on December 13, 2010 in accordance with the intergovernmental agreement on construction, operation and decommissioning of Akkuyu NPP. The company’s representative office has been opened in Moscow, Russia.
General designer of the plant
An engineering company, and the general designer of nuclear power plants. It carries out full range of design and survey activities on the construction and modernization of NPPs, including development of design and working documents, designer’s supervision over the construction of NPP, and technical support for its operation. It organizes construction and installation activities, delivery of equipment and materials, start-up work and commissioning of nuclear power plants. The company’s activities are carried out in strict compliance with the requirements of Russian and international quality standards. The company is the general designer of the Novovoronezh NPP-2 (NPP 2006) - a reference plant (analogue) for AKKUYU NPP.
General contractor for construction of the plant
An engineering company of State Corporation “Rosatom” on construction and modernization of nuclear power facilities abroad. The company relies on fifty years of expertise of the experts of the Russian nuclear power industry, who participated in the building of about 30 nuclear power units in Eastern Europe and Finland. It owns reference nuclear power units with new-generation VVER reactors (Tianwan NPP in China). Atomstroyexport JSC carries out activities in Iran, India, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Turkey, and Czech Republic. It plans to build new nuclear power units in China, India, Belarus, Vietnam, Armenia, Czech Republic, and Jordan, and participate in the construction of the second line of the Khmelnitsky NPP (located in Ukraine) and in other projects.
Technical customer – operator
Rosenergoatom engaged in production of electricity at nuclear power plants. Currently, the Concern includes 10 operating nuclear power plants of Russia. It operates 32 power units. As the operator, the Concern is solely responsible for ensuring nuclear and radiation safety at all stages of the life cycle of the NPP.
General Designer of the reactor unit
The company performs a complex set of engineering, theoretical and computation, experimental and research and production activities aimed at developing NPP’s reactor units of various applications possessing properties of increased safety, reliability and efficiency, competitive in the Russian Federation and abroad.
Licensing and safety consultant
A joint venture established by Inter RAO UES OJSC (IRAO) and the Australian engineering services firm WorleyParsons Ltd. Its main task consists of implementing high technologies in the field of electric power engineering, and to provide technical support to the promotion of “Inter RAO” projects. LLC InterRAO-WorleyParsons implements projects in the field of traditional electric power, with gradual transition from oversight functions and conceptual studies to a full cycle of design and construction management, and implementation of projects using renewable energy sources.
Project research supervisor
National Research Center “Kurchatov Institute” is one of the world’s leading scientific centers. It is the first national research laboratory that includes four institutions: Kurchatov Institute, Institute of High Energy Physics, Institute of Theoretical and Experimental Physics, St. Petersburg Nuclear Physics Institute. The Centre is engaged in development of latest technologies for the priorities of the global nuclear industry.
