Rosenergoatom and Electricite de France Have Signed the Agreement on Cooperation

Rosenergoatom Concern (a part of Rosatom State Corporation) and French group Electricite de France (EDF) have signed the agreement on cooperation. It was stated in the concern that the document provided for cooperation in the field of operation, modernization and extension of NPP life, decommissioning and handling of radioactive waste as well as joint research and development work connected with the issues of operation. Alexander Shutikov, first deputy Chief Executive Officer of Rosatomenergo, explained that the agreement was the continuation of more than 20 years’ cooperation of the two companies “seeing a large potential in the use of the experience accumulated in implementation of joint projects”. In his turn Dominique Minier, Chief Executive Officer of EDF for NPP and CHP operation, stated that in the last years the parties switched from “cooperation on individual problems of nuclear safety to operation, maintenance and repair, construction of new power units as well as reactors of the 4th generation”.
