Akkuyu NPP Construction Project

On May 12, 2010, the Governments of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Türkiye signed a Cooperation Agreement providing for the construction of Akkuyu nuclear power plant comprised of four power units with VVER-1200 reactors with a total capacity of 4800 MW on the southern coast of Türkiye in Mersin province.

 

Under the terms of the Agreement, on December 13, 2010, the Russian side established a project company in the territory of the Republic of Türkiye - AKKUYU NUCLEAR Joint-Stock Company (AKKUYU NÜKLEER ANONİM ŞİRKETİ).
