Future Turkish Nuclear Engineers have participated industrial attachment

4th year Turkish students of Obninsk Institute for Nuclear Power Engineering (NRNU MEPhI) have completed industrial/field attachment at Novovoronezh NPP (Russian Federation). Future nuclear engineers had been familiarizing with reactor systems of innovative Power Unit 6 with VVER-1200 reactor (the reactor type which is to be constructed in Akkuyu NPP) for two weeks. The practice courses took place at Training Center for Foreign Specialist. Novovoronezh NPP has become a pioneer among other Russian NPPs in terms of foundation of international training unit within the framework of fullfilment of Rosatom State Corporation strategic objectives.

“We’ll be the first engineers working at such plant which is to be constructed in our country. This is a great responsibility”, said NRNU MEPhI student Rengin Türkel. “We asked a lot of questions and got detailed responses in the course of classes. I made certain for myself that; Russian nuclear plants and academicians are the best.”

This is the first group of Turkish students which studies nuclear engineering in Russian university. All of them underwent strict pre-selection in their country and have a command of Russian. After graduation they will serve their internship in Russia and only after that start working in Turkish Republic.
